My low-key weekend in a nutshell

My weekend wasn’t anything extravagant and it definitely went by too fast. Sounds normal, right?

I started my Friday off early (5 a.m.) to do about an hour’s worth of work from home and then tried to go to the gym. I spent a whopping 10 minutes there before I realized I was way too sick and needed to go home and go back to bed. Enter unexpected sick day! I ended up sleeping on and off all day. By the end of the day I was feeling a little better so I ended up going to dinner with a friend and hanging out with her at her apartment.

Saturday I woke up and immediately regretted staying out as late as I did (even though it really was just a low-key hangout night) because my body fell right back into the sickness I thought was going away. Enter another low-key day instead of doing the Milwaukee Shamrock Shuffle (a.k.a. wasted bar crawl downtown) with another friend of mine. I was finally able to muster up some energy to go to the mall with my sister to pick up some makeup and eat a late lunch at Panera.

The rest of my night involved looking for/asking around about part-time jobs and watching tv. Borrrrring. Except for Chipotle for dinner – that’s never boring!

Today was really the only day that I did anything that involved effort. I woke up late (curse you, daylight savings!) and found out I had an unexpected trip north to meet my mom and cousin halfway to pick up my car. They’re expecting a snowstorm so they didn’t want to make the three hour drive to Milwaukee. Understandable! We met up at the outlet mall where my mom bought me a few fun pieces of clothing for spring and summer.

Let’s be honest … I’ll probably wear all of them this week. It also helps that these are all SMALLS – yay for losing weight! 🙂

After lunch at Olive Garden (not pictured), my sister and I traveled back before making a quick pitstop at WalMart for some necessities …

Yes, Breaking Dawn Part 2 IS a necessity.

The rest of my night has revolved around multiple social media sites (read: Twitter and Facebook) and playing with the cat. Up at 5 a.m. tomorrow morning for more work from home and a workout. I have a feeling tomorrow’s going to be a little bit nuts since I’ll have to play catch up from missing Friday.

I’m also excited to be partaking in a Blogger Q&A Tuesday night with one of my FAVORITE blog ladies of all time – Erin over at Living in Yellow. Yay!!! 🙂

How was your weekend? Do you prefer low-key or busy weekends? I prefer busy!
